Submitting Videos

If you own a camcorder, then you have the minimum amount of equipment needed to produce your own videos!

What else is needed?

An idea, or a hobby, or a passion, or interesting friends, or almost anything else you can imagine would be great subjects for an interesting video that you would be proud to share with your Boxford friends and neighbors.

All of our BCATv producers started with a camcorder, an idea, and a little patience.

Most importantly, your neighbors and friends at BCATv are here to help you produce a video you will be proud to show on Boxford Channel 10!

If you already have a video you would like us to broadcast, please register as a volunteer and use the Community Feedback form under the Forms link to let us know what you have.  We will contact you with specific information on where to drop off the DVD, or tape and pick it up after broadcast.

If you have an idea, or would just like to talk with one of our members on how to proceed, then please feel free to register and use the Community Feedback form under the Forms link.  One of us will call you back and offer whatever assistance we can.

Thanks!

Brad Sweet, BCATv

BCATv Welcomes Verizon Ch 45 & 39

BCATv is pleased to welcome VERIZON FIOS TV subscribers to Boxford Public Access and Government programming!

Effective 1/17/07, BCATv Public Access programming, currently broadcast on COMCAST Channel 10, will also be broadcast on VERIZON Channel 45.

Government programming, currently broadcast on COMCAST Channell 22, will also be broadcast on VERIZON Channel 39.

The Boxford Cable Committee worked long and hard to bring a second video provider to Boxford.  After nearly 30 meetings and negotiating sessions a franchise agreement was signed with Verizon on September 19, 2006.

Unfortunately, reserving Channels 10 and 22 for BCATv was not a negotiable line item for Verizon.

In order to minimize confusion, BCATv will use the "Ch 10/45" and "Ch 22/39" designations for Boxford Public Access (Ch 10/45) and Boxford Government (Ch 22/39) channels respectively.

Posting Announcements on Boxford Ch 10

Starting December 19, 2005 postings to the Boxford Community Bulletin Board can be done via this website for your convenience!  (Postings will no longer be accepted by COMCAST.)

You will need to register, using the Register link under the Search box in the upper right, in order to access the CBB Non-Profit Posting Form.  As a registered user, you will have access to the Forms menu, plus additional content.

There is no cost for non-profit postings.

Channel 22 Debuts Fri, 9/1/2006!

Boxford Cable Access Television (BCATv) and COMCAST are pleased to announce the addition of a second Public, Educational and Government (PEG) channel in Boxford.  Channel 22 will debut on September 1, 2006 and will be used primarily for live and taped broadcasts of Boxford government meetings and community bulletin board announcements.

The addition of Channel 22 will allow more frequent replays of government meetings during the day throughout the week.  Currently, these meeting replays on Channel 10 are limited to the hours before 10 am and after midnight. The timing is very beneficial as well, because the frequency of meetings always increases dramatically in September as our town boards prepare for the Special Town Meeting in October and begin the fiscal 2007 budget process starting in November.

With the addition of this new access channel The Food Network will no longer be seen on Channel 22, but  will continue to be available on Channel 54, where it has been seen since its launch.   In addition to Channel 22, COMCAST has been showing The Food Network on Channel 54, as a courtesy to their subscribers, in order to eliminate the inconvenience of a black screen or snowy picture.

Gina's "Everyday Gourmet"

Gina shares her favorite recipe from her Nanna Nonna: Stuffed Artichokes.  Although this rustic recipe is extremely simple, the result is flavorful and extremely satisfying.

The main course in this episode is Gina's version of Liguini with Clam Sauce, which features a unique mirepois consisting of carrots, celery and onions.  The result is unbelievable!

Gina also demonstrates how to mix a unique cocktail called a Belini, which consists of Champagne, Gran Manier, and Peach Sorbet.  This drink can be served as an appetizer or as an after dinner drink.

Be sure to click on this link for the recipes!
